At adrEdge, the duration of an arbitration proceeding depends largely on the complexity of the dispute, the nature of the evidence, and the cooperation extended by the parties throughout the process. While arbitration is inherently structured to be faster than traditional litigation, adrEdge aims to ensure that all proceedings move efficiently without compromising fairness. In line with best practices, arbitrations should ideally be completed within a maximum period of one year from the date the arbitral tribunal enters upon the reference. If this one-year period expires, the parties or the tribunal would be required to seek an extension in accordance with the applicable law or the adrEdge Rules.
Yes. All adrEdge arbitral awards are legally binding and fully enforceable under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Once an award is issued by an adrEdge Tribunal, it holds the same status as a decree of a court and may be enforced before any court of competent jurisdiction across India. Parties are obligated to comply with the award, and failure to do so allows the successful party to seek enforcement through the statutory mechanism provided under the 1996 Act.
